FAQS
Live Wedding Painting Questions
Every wedding day is a little different, and flexibility is my middle name. I approach live painting with a calm, go-with-the-flow mindset, adapting to things like weather changes, timeline shifts, or small creative decisions as they happen. Very little is needed on the day itself — most details are planned in advance so everything feels easy, natural, and stress-free.
What moment is typically painted?
The main focus is often the ceremony or a meaningful moment chosen in advance. The final composition is guided by lighting, movement, and what feels most visually compelling on the day. This is something we’ll talk through together during the consultation!

How does live wedding painting actually work?
I usually arrive 2–3 hours before the celebration begins to set up and start painting the background. From there, I paint live throughout the day at the ceremony, reception, both, or elsewhere, capturing key moments as they unfold. Depending on the package, I’ll paint up to 6–10 hours on site, then spend additional time in the studio refining the piece to make sure it’s finished beautifully.

Will live painting be disruptive during the day?
Not at all! I’m mindful of the flow of the celebration and set up in a way that allows guests to observe if they’d like, without interfering with key moments.
What if the date is already booked — is painting from a photo an option?
Absolutely. Painting from a photograph after the wedding is a great alternative, and with good reference photos, the final piece is just as detailed and meaningful.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes, I love to travel! I’m based in Prince Edward Island and travel across the island, as well as to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. For venues over 50 km away or off-island, travel costs may apply. I’m open to travelling further too — feel free to reach out if something extra special is in mind.

What materials do you use?
I work with professional artist acrylic paints on gallery wood panels or stretched canvas, depending on preference. Each painting is finished with a clear varnish so it’s protected and made to last.

When will the painting be finished?
Turnaround time depends on the season. Weddings between November–April are typically completed within 4–6 weeks, while May–October weddings usually take 6–10 weeks.

How many people can be included in the painting?
I focus on the couple, which keeps the painting feeling intimate and expressive. That said, additional people or pets can absolutely be included — we’ll just chat through price options ahead of time and to make sure everything works well composition-wise.
Are you 2SLGBTQI+ friendly?
Always!! Love is love, and every couple deserves to feel celebrated and comfortable. All clients are welcomed with care and respect.
What’s needed to officially book?
I need to know the confirmed date and venue! Then to reserve the date, I require a signed contract and a 20% non-refundable deposit. Payment plans for the remaining balance are always an option.
